WEDNESDAY, December 4    “Pre-meeting” arrivals

THURSDAY, December 5

3:00 PM         Registration table opens, The Heldrich Hotel

4:00 PM         Welcome and Opening Worship

          United Methodist Church of New Brunswick, across street from The Heldrich Hotel

          (1 minute walking time)

          Preacher:  Rev. Dr. Kenyatta Gilbert, Howard University

5:00 PM         President’s Reception, The Heldrich Hotel (cash bar)

5:30 PM         Recognition of Retirement: Paul Scott Wilson

                      Dinner on your own – There are many “walkable” nearby eateries.

7:30 PM         Plenary I: "Eradicating Homiletica Myopia and the Complicit Erasure of 'Othered'                                  Intellectual Capital" (Livingston I/II)

                       Dr. Teresa Fry Brown, Candler School of Theology at Emory University


FRIDAY, December 6

8:00 AM          Hotel hospitality kiosks open

8:30-11:00      Morning Workgroups (4 half-hr presentation periods, 10 min between)

11:30 AM       Midday Worship, United Methodist Church of New Brunswick (same as Thursday)

                      Preacher: Rev. Dr Valerie Bridgeman, Methodist Theological School in Ohio

12:45 PM      Lunch (hotel buffet, no charge; included in your fees)

                      Designated table:  International Members’ Meeting

1:45-4:55       Afternoon Workgroups (5 half-hour presentations, 10 min between)

5:00 PM         Dinner on your own (reservations recommended; check on line)

5:45 PM         Buses load for worship at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, Somerset, New                              Jersey (15-20 min ride)

  Southern-style buffet supper (reserve at registration table) followed by African-                American worship service [all are invited attend!]


SATURDAY, December 7

Breakfast on your own; continental breakfast items available on arrival at Princeton Seminary.

7:45 AM         Buses depart for Princeton Theological Seminary (30 minute ride)

8:30 AM         Plenary II: Panel, Carolyn Helsel moderating, Mackay Campus Center

                                                            ~  Coffee station open throughout ~

NOTE:           Buses will depart at intervals TBA from the library parking lot.

Conferees may also walk to the train station (8-10 min) and take the Princeton Junction shuttle train, then NJ Transit north to New Brunswick Station, at their expense. Total travel time approx 45 minutes, depending on train schedule. See and choose “Light Rail,” enter preferred departure time.

6:00 PM         “Last Bash” Academy of Homiletics Banquet honoring retirees– no extra charge!
