New Academy of Homiletics Web Site
Jump In! Take it for a Test Drive

Introducing the newly designed model of the Academy of Homiletics Website! Like all new models, it has been engineered with the best from previous models and offers new features as well. So, jump in and take it for a test-drive. We’d like to hear what you think about it. What do you especially like? What features do you think would make it even better?

Before you put the keys in the ignition, Id like to point out a few features. You should know that the Academy of Homiletics Website exists to serve the Academy in the work that the it does. I hope that in some significant ways, the website plays an important role in helping us accomplish that. At the same time, we should be aware that our website is our public face to the world and we have much to offer. Our website has always offered "member" and "visitor" spaces. The same is true with this new version of the website. On the site’s homepage, you will find a "member login" link at top right-hand side of the page. By clicking on this link and supplying the username and password (same as for the previous version), you will have access to the member portion of the sight. Here you will find our Member Directory, details on our Annual Meeting complete with a link to online registration, our Paper Archive, posting of Open Positions, and other resources that serve the Academy.

You may also notice that we have designed this new model of the Academy’s website in such a way as to allow us to build more resources that might be useful to anyone interested in preaching. We hope that our website will be a place for preachers to find helpful links and resources to serve their preaching. Certainly one of those resources is our print journal Homiletic. In the days to come, we hope that we can find ways to integrate the website and the journal in useful ways.

Oh yes, and one other feature that will soon appear in this model of our website The Academy of Homiletics Podcast. Here we will offer audio book reviews, lectionary reflections, and conversations about preaching.

But enough with the talk. Here’s the keys... take it for a ride.
