With the publication of our Academy papers on-line instead of in the traditional book, we are able to adjust the deadline for submissions.  That may also help with the confusion about the papers that resulted from the earlier “call for titles” deadline imposed for SBL purposes.

Any Academy member may still submit a paper, as usual, for presentation at the Boston meeting, whether a title was submitted earlier or not.  All of the usual (published) rules of length and formatting apply, and doctoral students submitting Academy papers must still have the “sponsorship” of an Academy faculty member.

All papers should be submitted to the chairperson or persons of one of the Academy’s workgroups no later than Friday, September 19, 2008.  Workgroup leaders should then forward the papers to Dr. Joseph Webb no later than Monday, September 29.  The papers will be available through the Academy’s web site during the first week of October. 

With this note we emphasize that Academy papers for Boston are welcomed whether one submitted a title for the SBL book last Spring or not.  If one does not know which workgroup would be most appropriate for a particular paper, please send it to Dr. Webb.
