Alyce M. McKenzie

Will retire as Le Van Professor of Preaching and Worship and Co-director of the Perkins Center for Preaching Excellence at the Perkins School of Theology at SMU on May 31, 2026.  Alyce was President of AOH in 2012.

Frank A. Thomas

Will retire as Nettie Sweeney and Hugh Th. Miller Professor of Homiletics and Director of the PhD Program in African American Preaching and Sacred Rhetoric from Christian Theological Seminary in December 2025.  Frank was President of AOH in 2021.  You can read more here.

Hank Langknecht

Retired as Pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Great Falls, Virginia, on July 31, 2025.  Hank was Associate Professor of Homiletics and Christian Communications in the Haman-Pfahler Chair at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio.  Hank also served as Secretary of AOH from December 2016 to December 2022.

Kathy Black

Retired as Gerald Kennedy Chair of Homiletics and Liturgics from Claremont School of Theology.

Gregory Heille, OP

Retired as Professor of Preaching and Evangelization and Director of the Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from Aquinas Institute of Theology on June 30, 2025.  Gregory was President of CATH from 2006-2008 and AOH in 2013.

David Schnasa Jacobsen

Retired as Bishops Scholar in Homiletics and Preaching and Director of the Homiletical Theology Project from the Boston University School of Theology on January 1, 2025.  David was President of AOH in 2020.

Michael Connors, CSC

Retired as Associate Professor of Practice from the University of Notre Dame on July 1, 2024.

Michael Knowles
